Sorry I haven't been blogging. A LOT has been going on. I'm getting a NEW computer tomorrow with ALL the bells and whistles. I'll finish up my website then. Then I'll have the business cards printed out. I have two interviews scheduled. Possibly three. Two print and one radio. I'm also looking at two radio stations in the city. It's an exciting time. My best friend made my day yesterday. She told me she dreamt I was doing a book tour. *Grinning* Works for me. I have a friend who is looking on doing giveaway baskets for me. You're the best, Betsy!
It's all coming together wonderfully. I'm sending out the query letters this week for "A Life Unraveled." I have a few agents in mind who are on my top tier. I plan on putting the website together first and printing out fliers. Then I will work on top of that. So much to do! And not enough hours in the day! LMAO!

Unfinished Business and Matchmaker
I've thrown myself back into my writing with a vengeance. It's absolutely wonderful. I actually started writing Matchmaker. And I've made myself laugh again. These characters are slightly humorous. Life is less hectic now.
Except for the middle girl having some sort of bizarre eye infection. We're making a trip to the doctor tomorrow to check it out. Apparently, it bothered her all day. So off we go. And she and the youngest go to the dentist Friday. And it is supposed to RAIN here. LOTS Friday and Sunday. I don't mind the rain. I mind the north wind that accompanies it.
My tomorrow will be busy. Thursday won't be so bad. Friday will also be hectic. Weekend should be a stay inside affair.
I'll be polishing my query letter for "A Life Unraveled" this weekend. I have complete faith this one will be picked up and turned into a series. I've already formulated the next book's plot. It's all good :)~~

Under Constriction
I was, until recently, largely constricted in my writing style and process. It felt like someone was standing on my chest and allowing a small fraction of air to circulate in my body. I was gasping for air.
No more. I can breathe freely now. And I can allow myself to do what I love. To Write. To create new worlds. To put down on paper what is in my head and heart.
I've learned a valuable lesson. Just because it works for you doesn't mean it works for me. And narrow-mindedness suits no one.
So I will transfer some information from my other blog and track my progress with my works.
It's a brand, new day. And I'm feeling pretty damn good.

I know this never happened on HGTV
Well then. Ahem. I decided to replace my OLD cabinet handles and knobs. Picking them out, NO problem. Taking some of the old ones off-->PROBLEM.
I was hammering away. The little suckers were STUCK on there. The screws had been painted, and they simply wouldn't give. So I decided a large, flathead screwdriver and hammer was the way to go. Silly, silly girl.
FYI...Do NOT...I repeat...DO NOT EVER PUT YOUR HAND ABOVE THE SAID HAMMERING SPOT. You could be subject to the freaking screwdriver going up underneath your left thumbnail. It smarts a tad bit. There will be blood. Cursing...oh YES...LOADS of cursing. I actually think I made up a few new ones.
Thank goodness the thumb is almost useless in typing. I'd really be screwed to the wall LMAO!
But FINALLY...they all surrendered to my ministrations and persistence. Looks lovely, I say. Hinges next week.

It's all about perspective
I have Rave Wine paint all over my hands and arms. It's actually quite lovely. Rather like someone randomly painted me. Other than the truth of me forgetting where I painted, and therefore leaning against the wet spots. But it's pretty. I like it.
I had a calm day. Didn't get to sleep until after two o'clock last night. My hours are so screwed up. But I woke-up feeling human. So I took the opportunity to paint. And man. Paint I did.
It was in the seventies here. Light south wind. I actually laid out today. I'm a sun worshipper. Hell on the skin. Lovely feeling on these bones. I'm feeling mellow. It's such a rarity, I embraced it today. I wasn't out-of-sorts. I wasn't racing about frantically. (That's tomorrow. I checked the calendar.) I think today was the balance to yesterday. Definite improvement.

An Odd Sort of Day
I'm having an odd sort of day. You know, the ones where everything gets done, but it's also off-kilter. Things aren't quite right somehow. I didn't work on my blocks today because I needed a little sabbatical. I've been at least thinking about them every day and what to do with them. I didn't think about them today until around six-thirty. My mind thanks me. My sanity offers its profuse thanks, also.
My brain is an odd, little piece of work itself. Right now, I'm thinking about my blocks, scenes for THE NOVEL, a story which I have completed about 25%, a sequel to my first novel coming out, characters for another novel, and a sequel to a thriller I wrote. There's more, but it's hard for me to verbalize. Or jot down, if you will. Oh, *snapping fingers*, and my character letters. I knew there was something else in the forefront. *laughing* And Harry Potter...something about Harry Potter.

A visit with Amber
Saw Amber today! YAY! That doesn't happen nearly enough. Her and I chit-chatted for about an hour and a half. SIGH. Where did the time go? She's busy. I'm busy. Lord. Not enough hours of the day. I'm working on the novel which will really boost my career, and Amber is a McManager... LMAO. I absolutely love that.
I didn't work on my writing at all today. OYE I need to go BACK through the blocks and write everything down and do my color-coding. I'm still playing with that aspect of it.

Pacing
Hmmmm. I have stumbled across a small problem with my lovely blocks for THE NOVEL. Seems my pacing is a wee bit off. I recognized the problem when I sketched in dates for my blocks. WOW! It was apparent that there was a MAJOR discrepancy. OYE
So, I'll be reworking the blocks this next week. I want to do it as early as possible. I've put down the different characters in each scene. I've written sentences for the characters. I've referenced my lovely character sheets. All in all, I'm very pleased with the results. Now, I must get to working on the pacing, I have a good idea where I can make time.
And for other news...My book cover is on Whiskey Creek Press now! YAY! I'm so excited about it! I absolutely love it.

Block Swap
The Goblin Sisters and I are working our heiney's off. Blocks, character letters, Halloween Anthology, and websites are EVERYWHERE!
I'm also excited about my Front/Spine/Book cover. Jinger Heaston, you are INCREDIBLE! I cannot wait to see it on the Whiskey Creek Press website! I haven't been assigned an editor yet, but I know I will be one busy individual this year. And I welcome it.
I am so happy I had the opportunity to pursue my dream. There is absolutely no other feeling in the world for me as writing.

Sounds familiar
You think you can relax a bit today and maybe even play hooky. But your responsibilities at work won’t let you have this kind of latitude. There’s just too much on your plate now and you’re going to need to do your part at work before you sneak off to see that movie or escape into a daydream. It’s difficult to do everything, but if you prioritize what is most important, you’ll get through it with flying colors.
SIGH...You know its time to get back to work when even your horoscope sounds like Janie. LMAO
So, I guess I'll disconnect my IV from the internet and get to blocking.

Wicked Weather
Love this state's weather. Possibility of MAJOR thunderstorms tomorrow. Followed by a LONG streak of cold, nasty, frigid, hide your arse under the covers weather. ARGH
BUT...and this is the UPSIDE. Everyone will be gone tomorrow. And the next day. And the next day. I hope to finish my blocks. Perhaps one or two of my character letters. I am going NOWHERE. Leaves lots of time to do my BLOCKS and Character letters.
I'll post my progress on Apples Toads and Spells this weekend.
More to come on my website. Michelle, my wonderful Goblin sister, will be helping me put them together. Thank you, Michelle!

A blocking we will go...
Blocking. I don't have a hard time doing it. And honestly, I enjoy it. I'm halfway through with them, and I plan on finishing them by late this next weekend. EVERYONE will be gone Wed.-Fri. That will be my time to really take what I have and work through it.
THE NOVEL has me all excited. I can't wait to put all my thoughts and blocks and pieces into a cohesive, if not pretty at first, form. I need to write my character letters, but since I already hear their voices in my head, it's simply TIME that is of the essence.
Victoria, Brady, Hugh, and Connor all need letters. They each have a strong voice, and their stories will continue through the series. If I finish my blocks, I will write letters for Jane, Margaret, and Clayton. They are all fixed firmly and soundly in my head. Now is the time to make sure I let them breathe life into the paper and their story.

Time Warp
Hmmmmmm
It's Saturday evening. That is surely impossible as I have not completed 50% of things on my to-do list. I haven't even completed 25%. I cannot begin to tell you what that does to me. But here's a visual:
Imagine being agoraphobic and sitting on a glass platform in the air in the middle of the Grand Canyon. Get my drift? LMAO
It drives me nuts. Absolutely, categorically NUTS. So. After I finish playing catch-up this evening on the computer, I am tackling the living room. I have to make up those hours SOMEWHERE! Sleep? Bah! Sleep is for wusses. And normal people. I'm neither. LMAO

Working the weekend
I have stuff to do. Wait. Wait. That may be an understatement. I have so much to do I'm going to be on a naproxen and diet pepsi cocktail drip for the entire weekend. Something exploded in my living room. *muttering* Crafts, freaking crafts. Everywhere. Can't find sofa.
I need to work on my blocks some more. There are groceries to buy. Somehow, 48 hours just doesn't seem quite enough for this. I'm waiting for the "Manic Me" to kick in. Think Mini-Me on steroids and speed. I wonder what concoction I could brew to bring about this effect. Hmmmmmmm
I will ponder this conundrum and iron out the situation on the morrow.
NOTE: I slept approximately three hours last night. Take this with a grain of salt. Nevermind...here's the whole damn container. LMAO

Good News
It's snowed here for the past two days. Wind chills in the minuses. I kept the kids home today. I didn't want them out and about. The playstation got a workout.
But my GOOD NEWS...
I contacted a lady who edits a magazine here in Oklahoma. She's interested in doing an article about me and my writing. I am SO excited! Unprepared...LMAO, but EXCITED! AND...I'm on the Whiskey Creek Press--Coming Soon page. WOOHOO! It's all looking up. Halfway done with my blocks. I work so much better when NO ONE is here. I need to purchase my domain and get that webpage up and running. I have SO MUCH stuff to do! I haven't been on the computer in about three days. I'm playing catch-up now.
I love my life.

Bad news/good news
Bad news first. Freckles died. She was hit by a car. We live out in the boonies anyway, and the girls aren't on leashes. And she wasn't the sharpest canine known to man, but we're all going to miss the little heiney. She was only two.
Looked like a cross between a jack russell and a blue heeler. Marked like the terrier; built like the heeler. I actually breathed life back into her when she was only a few hours old. Her mama had her underneath the house, and she was freezing. I gave her mouth to nose resuscitation. It was quite a sight. We'll miss her. I've already planned on getting a puppy sometime this Spring. A male shepard. On a leash.

The kids are going back to school AKA The Happy Dance
Ahhhhhh...the blissful sounds of the school bus coming to pick up my children and ferry them off to school. How I've missed them (GGG)
But the school year is halfway over. How can that be? Didn't I just buy $300 worth of school supplies YESTERDAY? (Checking calendar ONCE more and becoming utterly disgusted) Guess not. Kids are anxious to go back, and I'm anxious to continue work on THE NOVEL. Rather hard to write between the screaming, fighting, and unpleasantness. Oh, wait. That's me. LMAO!!!
Seems like we've turned another corner. And I'm excited to see how this year is going to shape up. I just received an e-mail from the woman doing my cover art on "Virtually Yours." I can't wait! I feel the need to immerse myself in my writing. Wallow, if you will. "Virtually Yours" is coming out in October, and I need to get going on putting up a website of my own. Wow...a website of my own. That's one dream that's right around another corner.
